Karen on Mar 08, 2015Several years ago, during a Mass. snowstorm, looked out into my courtyard to see a bright red splotch of color in my platform feeder. Had to get my glasses on and then could see this magnificent bird: rose-breasted grosbeak it was (had to look it up in a book!). So striking against the snow. It wasn't eating, just resting, apparently. Only saw it that once. Surprised to see they can be found so far south.Helpful Reply

Kla1696528 on May 18, 2015Yes, definitely a Grosbeak. I was fortunate to have one visit my feeders last year. Like you I had no idea what I was looking at, so off to the internet I went. Google andwWikipedia are the best search tools you can use to find virtually any answer to any question you have. One more thing, did you make the feeder that the Grosbeakis on? If you did I would love to know how you did it. You can email me at; klassykitty6@yahoo.comHelpful Reply
