A year ago I took a class on growing mushrooms at home. The mushroom we were doing was Shitake. We learned how to inoculate the logs and then told to be patient...it would take a year fruit.
So far this is the only Shitake that has shown up...but more may come

@Douglas Hunt this is one of those mushrooms that you have to be patient with. I do expect more to pop up.

Quite fascinating, but I don't care for mushrooms. They feel weird in my mouth and I don't do weird in my mouth. If you love them it would be fun to grow your own though. Off to check off your second post now. It looked more like a work of art than something to eat.
