How to Update a Classic With Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan

I picked up this Duncan Phyfe dining set to paint several months ago and decided to go for a classic look when I painted it. This Duncan Phyfe style is such an old classic that I didn't want to stray too much with the paint job. I gave the table a clean, timeless look with Country Grey paint and then added thick stripes in Old White to give it a bit of a modern touch. The chairs were painted in Old White to tie in to the table. I kept my brush strokes smooth and lightly sanded between coats to keep the look crisp and clean!

Nst5567912 on Oct 14, 2016I have a complete Duncan Phyfe dining set and was considering painting all of it a French Provential white. But couldn't envision the finished product. I am definitely doing it now! This set looks great!

Emily Penney on Dec 30, 2016Beautiful! Considering doing this to an antique cherry wood drop leaf table, but concerned about painting the joints of the leaves, and how that will work without compromising the functionality of it. Any suggestions?
