Mary Insana on Jun 11, 2013I have a climbing hydrangea in a big pot on my deck and it comes back beautifully every year.I also have 2 arborvitae in pots in the front of the house and they are doing great too. Over 15 years ago I planted petunias in my garden and now they come up all over the place even in the pots that I planted with the hydrangea and arborvitae.Helpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Jun 12, 2013I don't think there is a hard and pat answer. It depends on the perennial and the size of the pot. Certainly the bigger the better.Helpful Reply
