Duncan Phyfe Makeover

This table was given to me to makeover. The color for the table needed to be changed to match with their other furniture. That meant taking it down to the bare wood to prepare it for staining.
Both the finish and the stain need to come off completely.
Start with the proper tools which you'll find in the blog post and a good furniture stripper.

This table took 3 coats of stripper to get it completely clean.
Once the finish is off, sanding is very important. Every surface has to be sanded equally to take the stain the same way.
Staining is the fun part... love to watch it come back to life in front of me.
