Herb Garden With Personalized Tin

I have grown herb gardens in the past, but I wanted something that would look a little more attractive this year. I was browsing our local Hobby Lobby store and found this tin and decided to fill it with five jumbo mason jars. I used my Silhouette Cameo to personalize the tin and added some chalk herb markers to label each herb. Every time I look at this herb garden I smile!
Making a Mason Jar Herb Garden:
I already had some herbs growing in toilet paper rolls for several weeks, you'll need mason jars, pebbles (got these at Hobby Lobby), herb markers (Target Dollar spot), mason jars and a tin to place all of the jars inside.
Fill the mason jars with the small pebbles, about 1/4 full.
Then fill the jar with dirt, leaving room to place your seedling inside. Or, you could just start by seed. Water and then place your herb markers where you want them. Now, I'll show you how to personalize your tin with your Silhouette!
This is what the tin looks like when its done! To find the instructions on how to personalize your tin with your Silhouette machine, you'll need to stop by the blog post I've added below.
I want to find a planter shelf to place these on inside our pergola on the patio.
I can't wait to enjoy fresh herbs all summer long in pastas, salsa, etc. We are even growing some cat nip for our cats!

Jill Ron Pike on May 25, 2016@Connie Jacoby the coffee filter works well to keep the soil from sinking into the pebbles...great idea

I am going to try this herb garden idea. Already bought the tin. It's a great idea, as you can put it outside also.
