How To Paint A Dated Brick Fireplace

I loved this brick fireplace in our last house, the only problem was, it was very dark and dated!! I didn't bat an eye at painting this guy!
The brick was so dark, it sucked the light out of the room.
Using Sherwin Williams Loxon Masonry Primer, a 1 1/4" nap roller cover, a 3" wide Purdy brush and Sherwin Williams Super Paint in Satin Finish I transformed the dark brick into a breath of fresh air!
I used Sherwin Williams Super Paint Satin in Oyster White
I was so pleased with how much brighter the entire house felt afterward!

Looks great! The before pic looks way too similar to my den. What did you use on the doors to get rid of the metallic gold? Also, where did you get those curtains? I love the whole room!

You did a great job on your fireplace. recommendation buy a great colorful rug on overstock or wayfair to pop some color into your room.
  • Great job. I agree about a splash of rug colour. Am not nuts about the mirror on the mantel. I think a series of overlapping and different sized mirrors with black frames would look better, or something completely different. The height from the mantel speaks for itself. No need to draw attention to it with the tall mirror.
