I found some mini mason jars while out shopping and thought it would be cute to turn them into salt and pepper shakers. It was a super simple DIY!
I found my jars at Sur La Table, they are sold in packs of four for about $10. You can make a set for yourself and one for a friend-it would make a nice hostess gift.
The jars came with the metal lids, so I asked my husband to drill a few small holes in them for me. He obviously used a very small drill bit for this. We put a few more holes in the salt than in the pepper. It really doesn't get easier than that!
It really doesn't get any easier than that! You could also paint these with chalk paint to match your kitchen decor.
Of course I had a little fun decorating them on my 3-tiered tray, which was the only decorating I could get done lately with my kitchen under construction!
