Red Jute Yarn Doorstop

I needed a doorstop for my patio deck door that was heavy enough that when the wind picked up it didn't swing but stayed put. It needed to be very heavy and have softness to it so it didn't damage the door and I also wanted it to look interesting and bright enough that you wouldn't trip over it.
I had some red jute yarn that I bought at Homesense in the sale. I decided to use my french knitter and knitted approx. 12-15 ft. of completed knitting.
I found a heavy river rock the shape and heaviness I needed. I washed and dried it and painted it red with Americana multi-surface satin acrylic paint in dark scarlet which I bought from a Dollar Store.
I started gluing the red french knitted yarn to the river rock using premium craft glue that dries clear purchased from a Dollar Store.
Making sure that I left no gaps between the rows of knitting.
Here is the river rock completely covered.
Here it is in place in front of my patio door. It certainly does the trick and cost me next to nothing to make.
