Dark waxes for chalk paint

Does anyone know where you can purchase dark wax to use with chalk paint? I am on a budget and I need a wax that is not over the moon expensive, but will still perform very well. Thank you

I've picked up dark Briwax at my local hardware store. http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1423621 They only come in the standard sized can which will last a very long time.

I have used shoe polish (the kind in the tin, not the bottle) on several pieces over the years that were painted with acrylic or latex paint, and it works beautifully for me & you can't get much cheaper than that. Plus you have several color options depending on how dark you'd like it to be. Although I have not used it with chalk paint yet, so you may want do a test piece to see how dark it will be. You can also customize colors by combining colors or adding clear polish to a darker color to lighten it up, etc..

Shoe polish is one of my favs...so are the shoe polishing brushes!! I also make my own wax out of beeswax, linseed oil and burnt umber stain. You can also try Fiddes Supreme wax in Jacobean. Its just like Annie Sloans dark wax - they have other colors as well, but I am in love with Jacobean. And its smooth like butter and easy to work with. It runs about $19 per 500ml can. I bought VALSPAR CHALK PAINT, VALSPAR SEALING WAX, VALSPAR ANTIUING WAX (DARK WAX) @ Lowes. They are definitely less expensive than ANNIE SLOANs products, but they do a good job if used correctly. The chalk paint covers well, the sealing wax works really well if you brush it on evenly. Let it dry for at least two hours before you try to do any buffing. If it is not tacky to the touch after the two hours, you can buff with steel wool or you can apply the dark (antiquing) wax. Let the dark wax dry for at least 10 minutes and then buff with steel wool vs soft cloth. In my experience, I used a (000) Fine Steel Wool to buff and it gave me a nice sheen.
