Gail Rutland on May 21, 2016The easiest way I have found is taking an angle grinder and knocking the heads off the nails. Carefully separate the boards and then you have two sides to chose from.Helpful Reply

Annadele on May 21, 2016From a Reddit user: "I'm from the desert and we always broke ours down for bonfires by pushing them down while the pallets balancing on one corner. The pallet should fold down on itself and come apart pretty easily." There is also something called the Pallet Paw, which is apparently a cheaper knock-off (about half price) of the Globalindustrial.com Deluxe Pallet Buster & Skid Breaker )$74.00). Just speaking with someone about this recently; purchased at Harbor Freight or Lowe's or Home Depot. Hope this helps.Helpful Reply

Dan on May 22, 2016Seems like all the pallets I get are nailed together with a pneumatic nail gun. This kind of nail is almost impossible to get out of the 2X4's do I use a sawsall and just scrap the interior pieces. The nails remaining in the slats can easily be punched out.Helpful Reply
