Wall Planters...Revived!
by
Mickey Baron
(IC: homeowner)
2 Materials
Rusty, Old....
1/2 off yellow tags at local thrift shop....
I can afford $1.75!
Step 1. Wash, scrub, & sand. Tape off the pretty scrolling...
Step 2. Used semi gloss black spray paint. Rust resistant, of course...
Step 3. Taped off the black & exposed the scrolling for my 2nd. color. Hammered pewter
Step 4. Added a little bling, (my personal touch)... Loctite on glass gems. Dry for 24 hrs.
Step 5. The fun part... Time to fill with flowers!
NOTE...So the deck wall isn't saturated every time I water these, I fill the coconut liner with a plastic bag to help hold in the water, & keep all that moisture away from the deck wall & spilling onto it. I've done it for yrs. every time I make up wall baskets, & it works like a dream.
How pretty for our deck this year. LOVE the finished product.

saw a recent post that if you use a disposable diaper in bottom it will hold moisture

Yes I tried that in some other planters. I don't think it works that well, but others may have had better experiences.
