Easy
I love all kinds of chanty's and I love to repurpose the old and the new. This particular one was a new one but I didnt like the colour for my outdoor patio room, which I call "cabin cottage bungalow vintage mix! " Wow say that fast and three times! :) anyway, I mixed up a batch of two colours, blue and teal chalk paint and painted away.
Anyone can take an old or new chanty or any lamp really, and give it new life. So next time you see that "brass construction grade" baby at the thrift, pick her up and have fun!
If you want to cut off all the electrical you can do that as well, replace with saucers, teacups and saucers and tea light candles. Whatever you do it will give any area a pretty glow! Have fun!
