How to adhere shelf liner to my buffet
-
Lori on Jun 02, 2016I suspect you might not want to use a permanent adhesive for this in which case why not try a good spray adhesive, even as a first attempt. It the top of the buffet gets a lot of use this may not be a good choice. As for a permanent adhesive, I'm sure someone will have a good suggestion but I don't know one.Helpful Reply

Chris on Jun 02, 2016To make the top usable as a buffet and to protect the liner paper have glass cut to fit the buffet top and sandwich the liner in between. It will also hide the rubbery feel.Helpful Reply

William on Jun 02, 2016I agree with Lori and Chris! I would not glue it down. You may want to remove it in the future. If you are concerned about using glass, you can get some Plexiglass at the Menards, Home Depot, or Lowes.Helpful Reply

Shari on Jun 02, 2016I agree glass (with or without the shelf liner sandwiched between) would be the best choice for a more durable top with the least amount of damage to the finish of your buffet. However, having a piece of glass cut might not be in the budget, as it can be a bit pricey. If glass is not an option, I would then suggest using a small amount of wallpaper paste to secure the shelf liner. If you decide to remove the shelf liner at some point, the wallpaper paste should allow you to pull off the liner and then the residual paste should wipe off with a mixture of soap and water, or white vinegar and water, hopefully without too much damage to the top of your buffet. **Edited to add: I've used pre-pasted and unpasted wallpaper with wallpaper paste on furniture before and have been able to later pull it off successfully and wipe off the paste residue.Helpful Reply
