Do I apply the clear wax with a paint brush? How many coats? How long between coats?

I use Johnson's Paste Wax and apply it with a lint free white rag (T-shirt) use it sparingly, a little goes a long way. If you can afford it, one of the Annie Sloan round brushes would work. Put a thin layer on, rub it in then wait till that dries, I usually wait till the next day and apply a second coat. Works out fine for me.
  • I love Howard's Wax, clear. You can apply with brush or lint free rag. I prefer a rag. Let dry for about 30 minutes then buff! I usually apply one coat unless the piece will see a lot of action!

I use Briwax or Johnson's paste wax. I have always applied it with a soft cloth or t shirt. Not Microfiber. I let is sit a few minutes. I have a cheap buffer and I buff off the excess. I have never had any trouble and anything I have used wax on comes out beautifully. Just so you know they make wax in different colors too. I use the dark wax on dark stained wood.

I have used Johnson floor paste wax, carnoba car paste wax. Apply with a soft cloth when it hazes over-buff with a soft cloth. The more coats--the easier------I always am amazed at how it looks how easy to dust etc. this is very similar to waxing your car--if you want to practice before you put on your project.
