I have a west-facing window where the sun shines directly in for several hours. Mini-blinds are on the windows, but mostly-closing them means mostly eliminating the light. Are there curtains or window treatments that will diffuse the direct sun but still allow some light?

I would look for some Woven Shades + Easy and quick to install + Can contribute to a casual or rustic decor + Available in a number of materials (woods, grasses, fabrics) and finishes - Translucent, allowing a lot of light to penetrate through the shade - Dangling adjustment cords

How about some thing basic, A set of Cream or off white Lace curtain's? Lace can diffuse and add a bit of color.

Definately try some Sheer Curtains Cindy or you could try vertical blinds instead of the standard horizontal...that way you can direct the light from left to right.

Plant some trees to filter the light. When the trees are in bloom in summer they reduce heat, in winter they let heat through.

Silhouettes blinds have a sheer over a darkening vein that is a great option for getting the light diffused .

What room are you talking about? Is the light problem all day or just at certain times? There are so many wonderful products available....just need to know the specifics to direct you to a good solution.
