Easy kitchen decor with minimal sewing and all around craftiness....mostly because I am lazy and like instant gratification. ;)
I have a bad habit of picking up things at swap meets, just because I "might" need them someday. So, when I found old coffee bean sacks for a steal, I grabbed about 10 for "someday".
I recently painted my kitchen and in the process of looking for ways to decorate, decided to try my hand at making window coverings out of the coffee sacks.

I recently painted my kitchen and in the process of looking for ways to decorate, decided to try my hand at making window coverings out of the coffee sacks.
I started with cutting open the coffee sack as it was not long enough to cover the window while still in it's current form. I cut the edges where it was sewn together to make one big piece.
Now, about the pictures on both sides... Have I mentioned that I'm also lazy about decorating? So here's the deal, I am also very fickle, which means I like to change my mind. Alot.
Then, I went on Pinterest and found free kitchen printables (there are a TON in many colors) and printed them out on white cardstock. Cut the cardstock to a size that I was comfortable with (6 x 6 seemed to work well) and centered it on the scrapbook paper covered mat, using foamy tab stickers (also from the dollar store) to make it pop out a little.
Voila! Put the frame back together and then had my husband hang them (he likes to measure, I - do not.)
Enjoyed the project?
