Cultured marble bath countertops

Diane Sterling on Jul 01, 2013The yellowing may be because of heat. Coffee sitting on the counter or heat from curling irons. I am not sure you can do anything about that. Maybe a light sanding and polishing. I tried bleaching mine and it didn't work.Helpful Reply

Hamtil Construction LLC on Jul 01, 2013Cultured marble does fade and yellow over time. Spots exposed to sun can fade quicker than others. Like Diane said, heat also can discolor the marble, as well as chemicals or cleaners. Once it discolors, you can't really fix it. There is a gel coat applied over the surface, and field repairs of the coating are not possible.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Jul 01, 2013Cultured tops are mostly "plastic" as the resin component is quite high. Surface "paint" jobs can cover it...like the granite paint kits. Replacement is another more costly route.Helpful Reply
