That's funny Terri, not to you though! Had the plant for how long... ? I use boiled water instead of a spray killer. Will kill a root!

I will try that, but it may be a little difficult to get it on the lambsear only. My friends grandma planted it around 7 years ago, and I started ripping it out every year 4 years ago! Hence, the gift that keeps on giving...

Although I love my lambs ear there is a way to get rid of any plant, Soil Solarization. Cut it back and put clear plastic over it. The sun will kill it off for you. Since you are in Iowa, (I'm in Missouri), you may need to wait until next summer. The sun will kill the plant and any weeds.

did you know, that lamb's ear has medicinal qualities? I have 2 gardens in my yard. 1 is a veggie garden, & the other is a medicine garden. Lamb's Ear is a plant I would NEVER EVER get rid of...but if you're not into homeopathy medicine, then I can understand why you would not want it. Depending on how much you have growing, you may just want to think about selling it... you won't get rich, but in this day & age, every penny helps.
