Replace Playground Canopy With a Wood Roof

After 20 years of summer storms, our old Rainbow play system canopy was starting to shred. I was never fond of the tri-color top and even a new knock off top cost upwards of $75. So we decided to replace the canopy with a wood top for half the cost. I like it better and it blends in with our back yard surroundings better than the bright red, yellow and blue of the old tarp.
For all the how-to details please stop in at the Bliss Ranch blog.
The new wood top is screwed into underside supports.
The old canopy top was faded, dirty and shreddeing.
Each board was painted a different color, and a dark stain wash was applied.
The finished top complete with flags made from old leather furniture samples.
