Yucky Kitchen before and after

I posted a picture of this kitchen a few days back but didn't provide a before. It reminds me how yucky a kitchen can be and the potential beauty in every room. We all have great imaginations and houses allow us to use them. http://www.homerepairtutor.com/

Love the clean modern look. Definitely a big upgrade. Nice work.

Thanks Steve, it definitely looks a lot better. We decided to just drywall over all the existing walls because they had wallpaper on them. This provided some unique challenges with trim but was worth it because drywalling was faster than removing 50 year old paper!

Thanks Bernice. This kitchen was for one of our rentals and the tenant really likes it. I'm happy she's happy ;)

This is a lovely updated layout and look for your kitchen. Last weekend we moved some cabinet boxes to test drive a new layout for our kitchen. Your cabinets are the style I am considering. May I ask where you found them and/or brand? Thanks!

Thanks Amanda for your question, we purchased them at IKEA and they were pretty reasonable. Let me know if you have any other questions.

You did this for one of your tenants? What a nice nice man! She must be ecstatic! As i posted under the picture, Kitchens like that should not be allowed to exist! What a dreary kitchen, and now what a bright happy room!

Thanks Bernice, the old kitchen was original to the house. The wallpaper was not exactly cheerful. We decided to just drywall over all of it. :)

Lucky tenant to have a landlord like you. Most landlords could care less how inconvenient the kitchen is. Looks so nice now.

Thanks Sarah, the old cabinets were so filthy we had to discard them. If they were in good shape I would have given them away.
