We never saw our basement as usable space because it always flooded. When we set out to renovate, we originally planned a large expansion. Then we realized if we fixed the flooding issues, all the space we needed was right in our basement. We set out to create a space with zones for everyone in the family and used a style of rustic blended with modern.
