Overhauled Long Drawer Dresser With Vintage Yardsticks and Original 19

2 Materials
I found the perfect long drawer piece that would be great for blueprints, large photos, artwork, and more so I just had to put some original blueprints on the top...
I began the project by figuring out what pieces of the blueprint I wanted to use in a grid pattern.
Once I picked my original pieces, I routed out the areas or alleys that my vintage yardsticks would settle into.
Next, I painted the piece a complimentary blue from the Annie Sloan line, distressed and then dark waxed.
Then it was time to use some wood glue to mount the pieces of the blueprint. Following that, I inset the yardstick pieces for a flush, flat surface. I sealed the whole top several times with a matte varnish.
Voila! It didn't last long and a customer grabbed it up for an accent piece in their home.
