Do not use vinegar as an every day cleaner on tile, just to remove the grout haze.

I have been grouting a bathroom that has the same problem. The owner of the house started the grouting job and quite messed it up (grout on the face of the tiles). He assures me that he will use a buffer to get the grout off. Not sure how this work. We will see if the buffing scratches the tiles.

This is going to seem really weird but it works. When we remodeled our bathroom, there was a lot of grout on the edge of the tub where we pulled out the old tile. Dissolve sugar in hot water and let it soak on the tile. It really does soften up the grout and make it possible to clean off. Because the area we needed to remove grout was right on the curved edge of the tub, I soaked a paper towel in the sugar water solution and placed it on the grout. It takes awhile and I had to replace the towel a few times, but it worked really well.

I actually wetted it down with water and a clean rag; then used a plastic knife to gently scrape it off..came off easily.

I agree with Rhonda G. I would however use a razor blade. If it's ceramic, doubt that the razor blade would hurt it and I think it would come off faster.

a new sharp scraper. And very very carefully scrape it off- a single edge razor blade also works.

Use a scotchgard scrubber that is recommended to not scrape things. Something ruff will ruin the tile surface. I believe in viniger and water for cleaning tiles and laundry too.
