Rustic Garden Bench

With the warm summer weather I am spending more and more time out in my garden. I love to help things grow, and the rewards are amazing. Fresh fruits and vegetables and the beautiful flowers are more than worth the hours spent weeding and watering and caring for the plants. I love adding fun and pretty things to my gardens, and it's always a bonus if it's useful too! This rustic small garden bench was the perfect addition this year!
You just need a few items to make this super easy bench. I really love these Walnut Hollow Basswood planks with the raw bark edges. Combined with a few of their basswood blocks it's ready to go!
It's just a matter of positioning your basswood carving blocks under the plank and gluing then screwing them into place.
Sealed with an outdoor oil based polyurethane will protect it from the elements. I used two coats. Make sure to let it cure completely before placing it outside.
Now you have a cute little rustic wood bench for your garden. Put potted plants on it to dress it up, or sit it beside you while you work to hold your tools or transplants ready for planting.
