Inexpensive and Easy DIY Compost Sifter

Once you have some compost that has finished cooking, it's time to sift it. The reason for sifting is that there are always some large pieces left in the compost pile that still need breaking down.
They make sifters that you can purchase or you can make one yourself with many projects found online.
My answer is easy and free. Use recycled garden plastic trays for the job. Find out more:

    Update - I used this tip the same day posted. It works great, put two of the same trays together and it keeps more of the big stuff. I also used this while adding plants to existing gardens when too much dirt gets mixed in the mulch when pushed back temporarily -- its looks much cleaner. thanks again for the tip.
