Not sure how urban or rural you are but it is likely that you have been visited by deer. We've had to fence in our garden and even then they have jumped the 4 ft. tall fencing and ate our beans etc. Now we are told that the recommended fence is 7 ft. high!! We take their habitat, they take our flowers and vegetables! I had some tomatoes growing in a topsy turvy hanging planter and my tomatoes were being eaten and I found some on our deck, looked out the window one morning and saw a groundhog up on a lawn chair eating the tomatoes !
