I posted a question about the leaves having rust colored streaks , yellowing and dying even though the plants are beginning to bloom ....an Iris plant that has done well for about 4 years died a few weeks ago that was planted next to them here is a better picture of the problem.

Day lilies need a lot of water. Just pull out the yellow leaves. When they have finished blooming, cut the leaves right down. In about two weeks, new green leaves will appear, making the plant look attractive again.

They might have rust -- it's from dry stress. (Some flowers are just prone to it....like snapdragons.). If more water & more consistent watering doesn't help you may need to use fungicide. Don't wait too long tho or it'll be un-fixable.

From England. This year my Broad beans were attacked by rust, the result was that the pods and contents stopped developing. I then realised that during a recent very dry period I had failed to keep them watered. There is little doubt that this caused the severe reduction of my crop. I hope that this will remind other people to never allow them to go dry. It will not happen to me again!

Normally, rust is an indication of a fungal disease and you might need a fungicide on this. Moreover, you plants look dry, the leaves are droopy, may be suffering from lack of water. have a regular schedule of watering better done in the morning.

Cut brown leaves off to the ground and get rid of the leaf debris to remove the source of spring infection. Trash or burn the leaves. Do not compost. If your plants are overcrowded, divide them in spring. Overcrowded plants tend to develop disease symptoms earlier in the season. Fungicide products that contain sulfur, azoxystrobin (Heritage) or chlorothalonil (Daconil or Pathguard) applied in the spring can help to protect new foliage from infection.

I would agree with Rodrigo above looks like it needs water,I would suggest too that you give them a feed of general fertiliser very important when flowering.

this is not rust! normal for them to have this, the outer leaves will just pull off, no need to cut. The modern daylily needs lots of water and fertilizer .

This looks normal for lilies to me, had them in garden for years and this simple they usually look whether watered or not, it is just the way they are.
