Patina is a thin layer that forms on the surface of stone, copper, bronze and other metals. This reaction can be replicated with Dixie Belle Paint Patina Collection on other surfaces such as wooden furniture, plastic, cardboard, ceramic, glass and even styrofoam!

As you can see we started with a plain glass milk bottle! The first step for NON-metal pieces is a coat of Dixie Belle Paint! Remember: You do not have to use Prime Start on non-metal pieces.

After that you can apply two layers of Copper Patina Paint and activate with Blue Patina Spray! Sit back and watch the MAGIC happen!

You will achieve authentic copper and greenish/blue patina effects. This is an AUTHENTIC patina finish, not a faux finish. You may wipe it with a damp cloth or seal it with Gator Hide once you are happy with the results.

Prime Start is a product used to prep metal pieces before starting the patina reactions.
Patina Paint is infused with metal pieces and reacts when the Patina Spray is applied! You can find a tutorial that incorporates the Prime Start and a metal pieces in our projects!

This was a gold ceramic bowl. After it the patina was applied this is what it looks like. It is perfect for a center piece!

This decor dish would look amazing holding fresh fruit!
You can see it is rusty and old looking with blue patina layer. To achieve this look complete one layer of Patina Paint and allow to dry. Complete another layer of Patina Paint and while its wet activate with Patina Spray!

Here is a close up of the details, can you believe this is STYROFOAM?

YES! That is right, this Styrofoam was made into a rustic show piece!

Using Patina Spray application options:
-Spray
-Brush
-Sponge
You can even spray and then dab or apply with a sponge or brush. The options are endless and most importantly it is fun. You can change it up and get a different look each time!
