Ok.. I have been searching for new throw pillows for my living room... And every one that I like and bring home ends up looking like crap (mainly next to my curtains)... I am kind of at the point where I'm going to rip the curtains off the wall and start cussing.......... (Joking, kind of)! SO, now I'm stumped. I REALLY like this throw pillow and the colors... What kind of curtains do I get? What color ? I will post a few pics of the type of furniture and decor that's in the room.... I have no idea what "theme" I even have in here, all I know is I like this pillow lol so I'm hoping you guys can help! * we are on a super tight budget, I'm on maternity leave and not working at all.. So I don't have much to wor
k with... Blinds are not an option.. This particular window is 12 feet wide and will cost a lot to put blinds in!
*these are the before pillows* l know they don't look terrible but I hate them, a lot!
Some decor, I'm still working on the room, and everything I put on the shelves my dog knocks off.. This room is a work in progress.. But I'm worried about my pillows

The room is so dark with the curtains closed. Can you take more pics with the windows open so we can see?

I'm thinking you closed your curtains so we could get a good look at the colour and printed design on them. Your leather furniture and the pillows you don't like (although they are very attractive) create a "winter" look while your favourite pillow looks more like "summer". I wonder if a light-coloured (white and blue?) afghan or some other type of throw would help to lighten the room up. Perhaps you could also get some white sheer curtain panels (I hear that Giant Tiger has these at a very good price.) Then when your drapes are opened, the sheers will diffuse the light coming in. (I've seen posts where people used a bungie cord as a second curtain rod.) Hope this is helpful.

Yeah with the curtains open the sun beats through so much you can't even see the curtains.. But I think you're right, something light like a nice throw would probably help! The decor and furniture in the room is dark and the walls are light so I was nervous to throw light colored or curtains that had too much color on the wall.. Although I don't mind standing out a little I didn't want the "loud" curtains to be the main focus in the living space

I see that you are concerned about taking things too far, but if you use your new pillow as the starting point and build on that, you should be able to become accustomed to it. Myself, I like a lot of colour, but most people like to keep their rooms in neutral tones.

Can you afford to get one more curtain panel and make a pillow cover from that?If not I'd go for something simple, cream-colored, with no pattern.

Maybe you could afford 3 flat sheets in the light or medium color blue of the pillow to use for curtains. Place at the left, middle, and right side of windows, but leave them open, and use sheer panels in between.
