I found this "thing??" on the side of the road and talked my neighbour into bringing it home for me. (Thanks Mark, XX)
Any ideas on what to do with it???
This is the top of it... It looks like a very uncomfortable, weird sized bed....

Hahaha! Not sure what it.is/was but looks like you have some great wood for a new project. When I first saw the pic I thought, "pallet" so I would check out the awesome things people have done with pallets for ideas. Will love to see what you do!

Thank You Barb!! At the very least I have some great wood for future projects!!

Looks like a bed frame that somebody put pallet wood on.

Thank You William! I agree, but it is a very weird size. Too big for single and way to small for double...

Looks like a bed frame but maybe used as a small deck area off back door.

Build planter boxes, distress with chalk paint.

Thank You Gloria vanhorn!! The wood is excellent for building all sorts of things!! I'll post a pic when I work out what to do.

It is pallet slats on what was a cot frame. I'd say someone's poor man futon bed. I'd think you could make it into something truly your own with very little effort.

If you have a good tree or structure to hang it from, add cushions and make a relaxing outdoor "hammock."

looks like a trundle bed that goes under a day bed, If it was me I would test to see how strong the legs and how much weigh they would hold and make a decd out of it ,or an out side dinning table

Thank You Martha Earles. It is as strong as!! Room is a bit of an issue around here, but I could add some legs, for a large outdoor table!

I agree with Martha although the purpose of that piece of wood on the end has me stumped. If nothing else, the wood looks sturdy enough.

Thank You Marilyn Zaruba. I thought it might be stop something, (mattress?) slipping off.. And you're right, the wood is excellent!!

Just had an idea. If you have a porch this could become a hanging bed-swing.

Good idea, Barb, but it is sooo heavy. Hope it doesn't pull the verandah down....

It looks like the legs might have folded up at one time so could it possibly be the inside of a sleeper sofa that has been converted into a permanent structure? What if you added outdoor furniture cushions and use it as a outdoor seating?
    • Jan Jan on Jun 28, 2016
Thank You Roxanne Howes! The frame is about the only original thing on it. With a bit of a spruce up it would be a great daybed. Just gotta find somewhere to put it...

Do you think it may have been a murphy bed at one time?

A murphy bed is one that folds up flat against the wall when not in use. It usually has a wooden base so looks nice when up. Saves floor space in small apts., etc.
  • Gigi Gigi on Jun 29, 2016
A murphy bed folds into the wall, usually with doors that close when folded. If you google it there are a lot of pictures.
