What color should I paint my front door?
The front door is a very plain Jane brown color. There are a couple of houses that have a wood stained copper colored front door which would look nice.
BUT I'm thinking of popping the front door by painting the door ONLY, NOT the sidelights the same shade of teal that I just painted my bistro set that sits to the left of the door.
Should I go SAFE copper or BOLD shade of teal? Which one? Thanks!

William on Jun 26, 2016Go with the teal. You want the entrance to stand out, not blend in with the house. Paint the urns copper and dry brush the teal over that to give an aged copper look.Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Jun 27, 2016I think the colour you currently have is very elegant. I'd go for a pop of colour by planting flowers/using artificials in the urns.Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Jun 27, 2016I agree with Marion. I would use color with flowers and pots. You could paint the door a cooper color and it would still stand out.Helpful Reply

Jennie Lee on Jun 27, 2016I LIKE your boring brown! I don't advise the teal. I agree with Marion. Leave the door alone, and put something that nice copper color in your 2 urns.Helpful Reply

Angel Carter on Jul 02, 2016I agree with Grace above...but since you are seeking opinions, if you want to tone down the warm colors in the brick & provide contrast, opt for only cool colors like navy, grey with a taupe undertone or even a robin's egg blue...the cool contrast ftom the warm tones in the brick will make the brick look like new! Happy painting to ya! :)Helpful Reply
