Ikea Cabinetry Kitchen Renovation

This kitchen had not been updated for who knows how long, and a year after moving in with my husband, we finally bit the bullet and updated it with Ikea cabinetry and custom touches. All of the work except the granite countertops was done ourselves.
Here's a look at my lovely red plastic countertops. I thought I liked my "steel-look" backsplash...but not really. And the white cabinets were quaint, until they were not.
Oh, the pantry. It had cabinets and a decent butcher block countertop, and strange speakers in the corner and very very old cherry wallpaper. If you head over to the blog, you might even see the felt that was stuck to the floor under the cabinet!
Taking everything apart. We worked in sections so we could at least still survive somewhat in the space. Oh, and I forgot, we did this all between Thanksgiving and Christmas, entertaining family for both holidays!

Sarah's Big Idea on Jun 12, 2014Oooo, I love those drawers! If I ever get a shot at new cabinets, I'm going for ALL DRAWERS on the lower cabinets. So much easier!
