Buttoned up Mailbox

I glued just some of my late mom's button collection onto plain wooden mailbox. I let that "cure" for 48hrs and then gave it a coat of outdoor Mod Podge to seal. I added the lettering which i purchased from local hardware store.

Thanks Valerie. I used the "outdoors" variety of mod podge, which really seems to have given it a really hard coat without discoloring, as some varnishes do. I'll keep an eye on the color fading, but where it is on my porch, it doesn't get any of the sun. Thanks for the heads-up!

Lynn, I think that is an excellent idea. It is such a lovely item, that it deserves to be protected.
