french grain sack inspired dresser
by

(IC: homeowner)
Found this beauty at a rummage sale for $20. Had to rip off the back and replace it and fix a drawer runner, but after that it was ready to paint. I love the french grain sack look and had seen another dresser done this way and I was in love. I love the distressed chippy look so took my sand paper and made some worn areas. The AnnieSloanChalkPaint didn't cover great the first coat and I had something seeping through. So I primed it instead, then went with the ASCP paint. I know it would have covered eventually, but with the high price of ASCP I just thought it would be economical to prime it. After it was painted, it distressed beautifully.

Lynn Zawojski on Mar 10, 2014really nice work. I agree with sometimes it's less expensive and less time spent by using a spray primer first, followed by ASCP. Love the look and will be using this very shortly on my furniture projects. thanks
