Mrs G Gets a Pantry

It all began with a kitchen remodel and a tiny, yet very usable space that BEGGED for a pantry.. With so much shiny new happening, Mrs G wanted something with a little more character. So off we went to hunt it down!!
Pretty Kitchen! ...in need of something in that little space by the door!
Mrs G Found this guy,... it was so much worse in person,....
There was significant humidity/water damage to what we realized later was particle board under a VERY thick and dense wood veneer! Trim was stained then added to stabilize the veneer and provide a finished look!
One of the requirements was that there be doors! She wanted to house a microwave as well as store food items above,..
She had fallen for the look of a pie safe! So I wanted to incorporate that here in a way that would feel cohesive... Pie tin was added and trim was placed to replicate pie safe doors...
Adjustable shelves were added (and later stained to match)! You can see here where the hinges are also in place for the doors
The entire thing was painted, distressed and new hardware was added,.. wanna see the finished product you will have to come visit the blog,.. ;-)
