Patriotic Wind Chime or Wind Socks

I had a ton of cans from a large batch of marinara and wanted something patriotic to put on the front porch so I made some wind socks!
Paint your cans and make one or two holes in the top, then grab some ribbon. I painted one can gold and the rest blue. I had meant to wrap the cans with a star washi tape but it was missing! sigh :(
Cut your ribbon to length and glue to the inside of the can, alternating colors if using more than one.
tada done! now would be a good time for the star washi tape...
Hang on the porch and watch the ribbons blow around in the breeze. The gold can is representing the liberty bell with yellow ribbons to show our love to our troops. This was a quick craft and kid friendly!

Charly on Jul 13, 2016First of all let me say that your project came out great! But the heading of the story said wind sock and wind chime! I see the wind sock, which I am going to make, but I don't see directions for a wind chime. So I was thinking, what if you hang bells on different lengths of fishing line with the center string holding a large disk or button to make the bells ring when the wind blows? Anyway, great job.

TwoCrochet Hooks on Jul 14, 2016I hung three cans together - two blue and one gold - so they were almost windchimeish - after hubby helped 'fix them' they no longer would hit together in the breeze. I love bells and that would totally bring back the wing chime part!
