Old Chest of Drawer Recreated Into a Secretary Desk
by
T Vaughn
(IC: homeowner)
I really needed a better place to take care of bills than the tiny cluttered desk in my bedroom, so I decided to make a secretary desk.
I started with this old chest of drawers. It has damage on the bottom and the drawers are all wishy washy.
Here I´ve cut the damage off the bottom and getting ready to cut it into the shape I want.
Here I´ve got it cut into the new shape and a new bottom is attached.
The top drawers depth has been cut down and the desk has been made and attached.
Here it is stained, new legs , new drawer guides (no more wishy washy drawers) and opened up into the desk.
The finished look, I couldn´t find any new drawer pulls for the size the holes it already had (without special ordering) so I just refinished the ones it came with.
So all you carpenters don´t laugh, but here was my ¨Plans¨ , so you know why it has it´s problems. lol
