Our Screen Porch Makeover

A before and after gallery of images of our screen porch makeover.
We started by stripping down all of the screen that was (barely) hanging on) We used 2 x 4's to reconstruct the support and rebuild the frame. We then took plywood and measured it down for each section in between.
We ended up skipping the insulation because we figured this is a 3 season room anyways and didn't really have a need for it. Next we installed the shiplap boards and the molding throughout the entire room exteriorly and interiorly.
The next step was painting. My least favorite! We went with a basic exterior white paint that would be easy to clean and protect against the New England weather.
Lastly came the decor! Yay! My favorite part! I chose this gorgeous rug from Raymour & Flanigan because I loved the combination of blue and green with all the plants I wanted to put in here. The lamps were a nice little addition from Raymour and Flanigan as well. I picked up the little herb garden from the Brimfield Flea Market (one of my favorite flea markets in the world) and planted our favorite herbs in it! Now I just need to keep the plants alive! :)
