A Less Than Perfect Dresser

I picked this antique dresser up at my local Habitat Restore for a song. It was a good thing because it only had one functioning drawer. The bottom two drawers were ruined. One drawer front was warped beyond repair and the other one I had to beat with a hammer to unstick it. So that left me with a lot of open and empty space.

I took a trip to Lowes and found the perfect pieces of wood to turn the empty space in to great open shelving for $7 each! They are in the same section as the pre made table tops at my store.

I finished these pine boards with Annie Sloan Dark wax only. They really look great with the aqua paint I chose for the rest of the dresser.

Now I have some pretty cool storage and open shelving for my kitchen!

Where do u get the Annie Sloan products? I am working on a table with black paint chalk. Is that what u use to finish off the table. Is it a matt finish? Durable for a kitchen table?
