Updated Rustic Sconce
by

Years ago I bought two sconces that were alike other than they were two different colors-one walnut, one oak. I brought them home and painted them. This is how they looked afterward.
I liked them, but they didn't really fit with my rustic/farmhouse style, so they hung for a short time and then were banished to the garage for 5 years.
Here is a close up of the glass, which I hated. A few weeks ago, I took them apart and dry brushed/whitewashed them.
This is the after.
I cut, painted and added chicken wire where the glass used to be.
This is the final look.
Before and after.
Hanging up with a tarnished cup inside.

Annie Doherty on Jul 19, 2016Lovely, they now look like that is what they always should have looked like. As the glass didn't seem to go with the rustic wooden sconces, these look so much better I love your makeover, thanks.
