Will this cement turtle damage my pool?

RichandTammy Whiteside on Jul 16, 2016Are you talking about putting it physically in the pool? It would depend upon what your pool is made of. I would be more concerned about people stubbing their toes on it or kids falling in trying to "save" the turtle... jmho.Helpful Reply

Joanne B. on Jul 16, 2016What does it weigh? Can you put it the deepest part of the pool where no one will run into it when diving? Frankly I think it could leave you open to lawsuits from non-family members if they hit it. It is a cool turtle though.Helpful Reply

Jacalyn on Jul 16, 2016I would put it in my pool in a minute! I doubt it would hurt it unless your pool is lined.Helpful Reply

George Knipp on Jul 16, 2016As an old pool serviceman, I can tell you the small size of the turtle isn't likely to do any damage to the surface. However it will provide a more fertile place for alge to grow, especially underneath. I also would not advise you to allow it to be moved around by a sweeper, brush, or even people. Then it might do some damage. If you keep your pool well cleaned, and remove the turtle and bleach it about once a week or so, and you keep your chemicals balanced, it should be OK.Helpful Reply

Carmen on Jul 16, 2016Thanks! The cement turtle easily weighs over 50 lbs. And although I have the pool serviced once a week, why ask for trouble? Putting it back on the pool deck! Thanks again!Helpful Reply

Carmen on Jul 16, 2016Got many good responses. But it was the last response from a former pool serviceman that did it!Helpful Reply

Nancy on Jul 16, 2016I believe that is a land tortoise, not a water turtle, so it wouldn't be in the pool if it was real.Helpful Reply
