Revamped Steel Bistro Garden Chairs

I bought these chairs with a makeover in mind. They came as a pair. Both had some rust to the backs where the metal crosses - I guess it causes a moisture trap as there was little rust anywhere else. I love red accents in the garden and thought I would paint these babies in a bright red. I already had the seat pads, but they were navy blue, so I just covered them with some more wadding to conceal the blue and then added the red/white fabric over the top and the red tie ups completes the look. I don't have a table to go with these, so I also made over a large white glazed garden pot and made a little Zen garden in sand in the top and used a round piece of glass on bumpers over that to make a table. The Zen garden has a little rake that I made out of a wooden spoon handle and some wooden kebab sticks, some pebbles, a little succulent and a Buddha - not strictly Japanese décor but it was all I had access to at the time. If I could find a little pagoda or something similar, then I will put that in instead of the Buddha.
2 coats of bright red paint suited to metal/steel and a new look cushion completes the transformation
cleaned with a wire brush and a light sand with a palm sander - these will need a rust converter
next step is rust converter, rust proof primer and then.....
