With a little help from my husband (see that story here: http://whomadethismissbobetier.blogspot.com/2013/07/from-ceiling-light-to-table-lamp.html), I turned a two-bulb ceiling fixture into a table lamp. Not everyone needs a short table lamp, but I thought it would be a fun project. After our initial failure (he broke the first lamp), we put together a lamp that sheds lots of light in our dim little farmhouse (yes, we're the farmers in the dell).
The brass base was painted with Rustoleum 2X in Berry Pink, and the channels in the shade were highlighted with a green Painters paint pen. Finally, unable to decide how to display it, I tried it alone, on one serving tray, then on two. I still don't know...

KathrynElizabeth Etier on Jul 30, 2013@Columbia1 There was already insulation in the light so we kept that in place. If I plan to have the light turned on for a while, I place an ovenproof dish under it. @Pat Giid I bought an electric cord with an in-line switch at Lowe's and my husband attached it to the wiring that was already part of the light.
