DIY Vintage Grocery Sign

3 Materials
I love the look of old vintage signs, but scouting them out - and then affording them - is trickier than you'd think. I used one of the fabulous Funky Junk Old Sign stencils to create this Grocery sign using just a scrap of old wood from the garage.
This sign doesn't have to live in the kitchen. It can find a home anywhere!
This scrap wood was already pre-painted when I hauled it out from the garage.
I chose Soap Stone by Fusion's Penney & Co line.
There are some secrets to getting the clean lines you want in a stencil. Head to the blog post to learn more.
Prior to distressing, I was really happy with how the letters turned out. But I wanted it to look older, so I grabbed a tool from the pile and got to work!
Head to the blog to learn more about stencilling techniques and how I roughed up this sign!
