Libby Grundstrom on Jul 26, 2016There's not much to them. They kind of do their own thing. Usually they grow on a cooler, semi shady side of the house. Deer love them. So do snails. They come in many, many beautiful varieties. They are good fillers for gardens and add color and texture.Helpful Reply

Rosemary Hesse on Jul 26, 2016Hostas are a simple plant which does not require a lot of attention. They grow fast and you can split them and plant again in same or other location. I started with about 10 plants from my neighbor and now have at least 40 or more. I put some in a flower bed to adorn some of the colorful plants. The rest were used in a circle outside of the base of a big maple tree. Try a few with your imagination and watch them grow. They come back every year even after a heavy snow fall. Good luck.Helpful Reply

B. Enne on Jul 27, 2016From my experience, the more you fiddle with them, the harder they are to grow. My biggest and most successful ones, are the ones I left alone. They grow exceptionally well near my septic tank, and near my rain downspouts!Helpful Reply
