I have gold bugs on my sweet potato vine, what are they?

Douglas Hunt on Jul 29, 2013It sounds like you may have encountered the golden tortoise beetle, Jill. They are particularly fond of sweet potato vines, but rarely do enough damage to warrant chemical intervention. Jill P on Jul 29, 2013Thank you Douglas Hunt, that is exactly what they are!! Glad to know they are not as intrusive as japanese beetles! I have only seen a few this year & will just pick them off & check for eggs.Helpful Reply
