KMS Woodworks on Jun 13, 2012I've seen rustic one use old silver ware and scraps of sheet metal...like an old license plate. I've also seen some done with scraps of hardwood to more refined 'found' items like a stained glass sun-catcher.Helpful Reply

Pam on Jun 13, 2012How about a round glass coaster or a plastic lid from a Ruffels or cookie container. It'll catch the wind and make the chimes create music again.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jun 13, 2012Not knowing what your wind chimes are made of makes all the answers simply a guess. You can use metal nuts or washers, A child's toy wooden block, you can purchase a small metal copper or metal pipe from local store and use it. Is the weight part round to and designed to strike the chimes themselves? If so hit the toy chest again and find a larger round wooden block. Going to a craft store you can find all sorts of round wooden disks for other projects that only cost a buck or two.Helpful Reply

Sherrie S on Jun 14, 2012Katrina H, the thing in the middle of the chimes is a wooden object and the weighted part at the bottom looks to be a light weight aluminum.Helpful Reply
