garden and backyard. This was just a cement slab a few years ago and the backyard was very empty (no fence).

That is a wonderful space. Looks very relaxing. How does she keep rain from pooling in the canopy?

This is about what I have in mind to cover our concrete slab patio. Would love a pergola just link this with the ability to curtain the sides from sunlight or privacy. I wonder how much this one costs?

@Jeff . . .her husband designed this pergola . . .cost for materials around $500. @Nancy . . .The curtains were from a metal gazebo they had previous to building the pergola. @ Steve . . .He installed grommets in the canopy for drainage.

What a wonderful space you daughter has created. You should shut those curtains and shut out the cares of the world.

Beth this is so peaceful & inviting!! Gromets for drainage huh. How simple and smart! Your "kids" have really did a fantastic job and I know you're just bustin' w/pride!!

If you live in Indianapolis, does your daughter also??? Hopefully you're close enough to pop by!!!

Ah yes, we are very close to each other. And my little poodle absolutely loves her back yard/garden as do I. It is very peaceful there.

SWEET - and it sounds a little like your son-in-law is pretty OK in your book too!! I assume you told your daughter you posted this - and all the oohs & awwws her creation has gotten!! Why doesn't she join too - I'm pretty sure if we all scoot over we can make room for one more!!!
