Hi Marilyn, thank you for posting this...wish i would have seen it sooner lol. I have a lovely porcelain TP holder that looked just fine. As I was renovating my bathroom I got an idea to paint the holder-- as there was already so much white in my new bathroom. I tested it by brushing on a light coat of the wall paint (a light gray) thinking that would possibly allow me to spray paint the holder a colonial blue....hoping it would adhere to the brushed on paint. Problem is there are some raised flowers at the top of the holder that i wanted to stay white so i didn't paint over them. Now i feel in over my head and i am afraid to move on and I'm wondering if i shouldnt now try to remove the gray paint and just leave it as it was...if possible. I think i got nervous after seeing a lot of posts saying painting over porcelain never works & that in time it will peal off. Seeing your post is several years old.... how is yours holding up? Do you think i should go for my idea or bail out and try to get the paint off? Thanks so much for any input. btw- I smiled when i saw where you live- i grew up around the Worthington/Powell/Delaware area! GO BUCKS!! Much Love, Pam
